The Miracle of the Manna — God's provision that would sustain Israel for 40 years in the wilderness — would serve as a type, a parable, a picture pointing to a future provision that would do more than sustain physical life, but that would provide eternal life to all who would partake of and believe in Jesus. For He is the true source of life (the Bread of Heaven) that satisfies eternally.
