In the midst of the Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24-25), the disciples were concerned with HOW LONG Jesus would be gone. But Jesus wanted them to focus on HOW TO LIVE while He was gone. And through the use of the Parable of the Talents, Jesus reminds His disciples that they have a stewardship responsibility to fulfill regardless of how long the Master may delay his return.
