Psalm 132, the longest of the Psalms of Ascents (120-134), expresses the both the heart of David for the rightful worship of God and the heart of God for the ultimate ascension of His anointed over all the earth. The first and second Advents of the Messiah are pictured and anticipated in this masterful Psalm which recounts the recapturing of the Ark of the Covenant and its relocation to Jerusalem where Solomon would eventually place it at the newly dedicated Temple (2 Chronicles 5-6).
