The Headship of Jesus Christ over His Church, a foundational doctrine of the Scriptures, was a central source of conflict in Pre-Reformation times. Martin Luther was influenced by the writings of John Huss who was burned at the stake one hundred years earlier for taking a stand against the papal authority of Rome, declaring that Jesus Christ Himself is the Head of the Church. How grateful we are for the many who gave their lives to defend this vital truth among others, which aligns with Paul's clear teaching in his letter to the Colossians and elsewhere..
