Soli Deo Gloria emphasizes the glory of God as the goal of life - a life lived not for oneself but for the pleasure of Our Creator and Redeemer. The Westminster Shorter Catechism declared this of first importance, that the chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.
