Chapter 7 is a pivotal chapter in the Book of Daniel that provides both a break and a bridge in the prophetic narrative, as the text shifts from Daniel's personal history to his prophetic visions. While Daniel has interpreted the visions of others, he now is given a vision of his own that both parallels and contrasts the dream of Nebuchadnezzar in Chapter 2.
